PATTULLO BRIDGE REPLACEMENT PROJECT
VINALIFT provides 2 sets of 30+30 tons overhead crane to serve the Pattullo Bridge Replacement Project. This is an important project of the city of Vancouver Canada. The Pattullo Bridge is a key connection between the communities of Surrey and New Westminster.
The new four-lane toll-free bridge will provide important improvements for everyone using the bridge, including people who are driving, cycling or walking, as well as communities on either side of the bridge, including:
- A safer crossing for all bridge users with modern, wider lanes, separated by a center median barrier
- Dedicated walking and cycling lanes, separated from traffic by a barrier on both sides of the bridge
- Better connections to, from and near the bridge
30+30 TONS OVERHEAD CRANE SPECIFICATION

Technical addition:
- Total lifting capacity of 120mt (30 metric tons per winch)
- Each winch has a lifting height of 65 meters (the drum will be designed accordingly, as well as power). The hook shall remain inside the beam and fully retracted to allow the movement of the winch over the supporting structure in the cantilever area.
- Each winch is supplied with a block with a required capacity of 30mt and has enough weight to keep the wire rope tight when there is no load on the hook. The wire rope must also be antirotation or laid in a fashion that the block will not twist while lowering or raising;
- The system will be capable to work synchronized with 4 winches, also using 2 winches synchronized (the ones on the beam), and independent winches operations (also the ones on the beam). Winches not mounted on the beam will be capable to be removed from the structure (disconnection of electrical and mechanical parts).
- Winches are to be remotely controlled as well as are to be sized in order to be used with US standard wire rope;
- The equipment shall be designed and constructed in complete accordance with all applicable codes and standards in Canada.
- Safety features will be in accordance with WorkSafeBC requirements.
- All fixings/hoses/components to be compliant with standard North American sizes/grades;
- All electrical components will be CSA-certified

Load test for winch
- A load test will be performed in the workshop for winch only, including a dynamic test of 110% of the load capacity and s static of 125% of the load capacity.
- The winch load test with lifting only without traveling.
